The +81 3 collection from Timberland is a limited-edition line that merges Japanese craftsmanship with American workwear heritage. I was the lead brand designer, responsible for developing the collection’s visual identity, logo system, and packaging design to reflect the premium positioning and cultural fusion at the heart of the campaign.

the challenge

The challenge was to create a design language that honored the refined precision of Japanese design while preserving Timberland’s rugged, utilitarian roots. The branding needed to speak to exclusivity and legacy, while feeling relevant within the modern lifestyle and streetwear space.

I drew inspiration from archival Americana and traditional Japanese aesthetics to craft a bold yet minimal identity system. The logo and packaging balanced contemporary simplicity with rich material cues, reinforcing the collection’s narrative of durability, craftsmanship, and cultural intersection.
